PROBLEM :
1 in 13 children has a food allergy in the US and is at risk of suffering an allergen attack due to accidental cross-contamination in food.
SOLUTION :
Plastic utensils that change color after coming in contact with specific allergen proteins detected in food, signaling that the food is unsafe to eat.
HOW IT WORKS
uTINTsil is made up of a specially designed plastic material that uses a combination of chromatic technology and a molecularly imprinted polymer patented in 2018.
COLOR-CHANGING TECHNOLOGY
When uTINTsil detects a specific allergen protein, the molecular polymer triggers the entire utensil to change color instantly. This will indicate that the food is unsafe to consume in a fast and easy way for even a child to understand.
